22 PWDs finish computer course

Twenty two differently-abled persons have completed a five-day Computer and Internet Literacy Course at the Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center in Bacolod City.

The training was part of the National ICT Competency Management Service Program of the Department of Science and Technology-Information and Communications Technology Office (DOST-ICTO) in partnership with NOLITC.

According to Engr. Romeo Tome, OIC of DOST-ICTO Negros Occidental Field Office, the PWD graduates were the first group in Western Visayas who completed the National ICT Competency Management Service Program of DOST.

Eddie Gonzales, a PWD from Bacolod City, said they are thankful for the opportunity because it is such a big advantage for their future employment.

NOLITC Vocational School Administrator, Dr. Ma. Cristina Orbecido said that it is the first-ever batch of PWDs that underwent such training course at NOLITC and they were impressed with the participants’ determination to learn.

The trainer for the course was Mr. Larry Sanor and Christian Yngson.
