CAPITOL receives laptops

Gov. Alfredo Marañon, Jr. and Henry Koa of Bacolod City yesterday signed a Deed of Donation for the 30 used laptops donated by the latter to the Negros Occidental provincial government.
Koa is a retired computer specialist who has solicited used computers from various organizations in Canada and the United States to be donated to the beneficiaries intended for the improvement of computer literacy.
He has also been donating used personal computers and laptops to NOLITC in support to the Negros First Computer Literacy Program.
Each laptop is valued at P20,000 per unit.
To date, a total of 135 laptops and personal computers have been donated by Koa to the province which was also turned over to NOLITC and some barangays.
Gov. Marañon thanked Koa for extending an invaluable contribution to the province that will help improve the technological system of delivering basic services to the constituents.
Koa said that they are happy to be of help to others.
Also present in the turnover ceremony were Dr. Cristina Orbecido of the Negros Occ. Language and Information Technology Center (NOLITC) and Koa’s wife, Marjorie Cantiller Koa, among others./Capitol News
