Negros Occ. Gov. Alfredo Marañon, Jr. and Site Director, Cody Carter, of the Focus Direct Call Center Company based in Bacolod City, signed a Memorandum of Agreement for a partnership with the Negros Occ. Language and IT Center (NOLITC).

The provincial government and Focus Direct share a common vision and goal of improving the skills and trainings of young individuals to enhance their qualification for employment in the industry of business process outsourcing (BPO).

NOLITC is a recognized technical-vocational education and training (TVET) provider by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to offer competency-based programs particularly for the ICT and Language Sectors.

Meanwhile, Focus Direct believes that the provincial government through the NOLITC has the technical capability and resources to implement TEVT programs relevant and responsive to the demands of the business process outsourcing.

It is stated in the MOA that the provincial government will furnish Focus Direct with the graduate lists of NOLITC after completion of their training, and that Focus Direct shall hire NOLITC graduates subject to job availability and hiring criteria.

The MOA also states that Focus Direct shall provide the necessary training per year to the faculty and staff of NOLITC who shall be directly responsible in implementing the curriculum to equip them with the needed skills for the course.

Also present in the MOA signing were NOLITC Administrator, Dr. Cristina Orbecido and Focus Direct IT Manager, Julie Dizon./Capitol News
