The Technical Education and Skills Development conferred the KABALIKAT 2015 Regional Award to the Province of Negros Occidental as outstanding local government partner, during the awarding ceremony held at TESDA Auditorium, Taguig City, Tuesday.

The activity highlighted the week-long 21st founding anniversary celebration of TESDA.

Dr. Ma. Cristina Orbecido, Vocational School Administrator of the Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center (NOLITC), in behalf of Gov. Alfredo Maranon, Jr. received a trophy and certificate of recognition from TESDA Secretary Joel Villanueva and Secretary Herminio Coloma, Jr., of the Presidential Communications Operations Office.

This is the first time that the province received the excellence award in recognition of its exemplary contribution in the advancement of technical and vocational education and training.

The entry of the province showcased the accomplishments of the NOLITC and other TESDA programs and services promoting technical education and skills development and infrastructure support with the construction of the Negros First Cyber Center.

According to TESDA through NOLITC, Negrenses have been given access to a range of tech-voc training in Contact Center Services, Medical Transcription, English Language Proficiency and 2D Animation.

The KABALIKAT Award is one of TESDA’s reward mechanisms in giving due recognition and honor to its outstanding partners in the promotion and enhancement of technical education and skills development.
