NOLITC opens extension center in Suay

The Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center has opened an extension center in Barangay Suay, Himamaylan City, recently, to provide technical vocational training to young Negrenses from different towns and cities the 5th and 6th districts.

Fifth District Congressman Alejandro Mirasol and Board Member Alain Gatuslao led the inauguration of the NOLITC Extension Center, together with Suay Brgy. Capt. Cherry Hope Maravilla-Belarga and members of the barangay council.

Executive Assistant to the Governor Eric Loretizo said the establishment of NOLITC in the south is a fulfillment of Marañon’s priority to provide skills training and consequently employment to Negrenses, in the growing IT-BPO sector.

NOLITC Vocational School Administrator, Dr. Ma. Cristina Orbecido said a memorandum of agreement was signed by Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. and Brgy. Capt Belarga establishing the NOLITC extension center and it is the first barangay-initiated IT training center in the province.

The NOLITC suay extension is located at the annex building of the newly renovated barangay hall completed through the assistance of Congressman Mirasol and Governor Marañon.
